New Martinsville Teen Dies From Head Injuries

  NEW MARTINSVILLE - A 13-year-old New Martinsville girl died Tuesday at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh from injuries she sustained in an all-terrain vehicle accident April 9.

Kayla Dian McElaney, daughter of Dr. Charles A. McElaney III and Pamela R. Anderson McElaney of New Martinsville, was a seventh-grader at New Martinsville School. She was riding a four-wheeler with another teenager when the accident occurred in Beechwood Estates, west of New Martinsville. The four-wheeler reportedly flipped over onto McElaney, causing extensive head injuries. The other teenager was not injured.
