What is a serigraph?

The serigraph (silkscreen) process involves making a stencil on a fine mesh screen, placing the screen over paper and forcing the ink through the open areas of the stencil and onto the paper with a squeegee by hand. Individual stencils must be made for each color, and each color is printed separately, one over the other, thus obtaining the multi-colored print. The screens are destroyed upon completion of the print in order to ensure the authenticity and unique value of the serigraphs. Each numbered print is one of the limited edition, and thus expressed 35/150 for example.

Note: Since the serigraphs are hand-printed, they may have ink smudges in the margins, which can be framed out.

Care should be taken not to hang the serigraph in direct or strong reflective sunlight, as the colors could fade.
